Entry Requirements

We offer entry points for learners at various stages:

  • No formal qualifications required for those with relevant experience and a passion for caregiving.
  • For Level 3 entry, a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English and Maths, or a Level 2 qualification in a related subject.

Progression to BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care

Students progress from Level 3 (Foundation Certificate) to Level 4 (CertHE), with the option to earn a DipHE Extended Certificate upon completing Level 5.

Our flexible programme structure offers multiple entry and exit points, accommodating diverse educational journeys.

Completion of Level 3 earns credits towards recognition of prior learning, facilitating seamless progression.

Fast Track to the BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care programme at the University of Greenwich (Maritime Campus) upon achieving a GPA of 55% in Level 5.

Dental Nursing, Level 3 is 18-24 months

Dental Nursing, Level 3 duration is based on the guide learning hours and teaching hours set by the awarding body

1 day a week. Lessons are held online

Dental Nursing, Level 3 students have to do a minimum of 16 hours a week in a work placement

Our track record in student placement for voluntary work is excellent, although it’s important to note that success isn’t always guaranteed. Our goal is to secure a placement for you within a reasonable one-hour travel distance from your home. Additionally, we encourage you to proactively reach out to potential employers in your local area, as this proactive approach can significantly enhance your chances of finding a suitable placement more swiftly.

The matter of payment between you and your employer is a private arrangement, and the college does not intervene in this regard. It’s worth noting that different employers have varying policies when it comes to payments. Some may begin paying you right from the start, while others may require you to learn the basic roles before initiating payment. This is something you can discuss during your interview process.

Our services are geared towards assisting you in your job search journey. We provide support in creating an up-to-date CV and offer job interview preparation. It is worth mentioning that our track record demonstrates a high level of success, with nearly all of our students securing professional employment within three months of completing our courses.

Students need to have English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent (Level 2 qualification) whether this is from the UK or abroad. All qualifications from abroad need to be translated into English before the student can enrol

If you do not have English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent (Level 2 qualification) we do provide BKSB assessments in English and Maths (at a small fee) to cover this requirement

Useful information

The Statement of Comparability compares overseas qualifications to the UK education system, comparing them to UK qualifications and framework levels. This service does not provide a comment on grades, grade comparisons, or the subjects studied.

The statement should be presented together with your original qualification documents to evidence the comparable UK level of your overseas studies.

Applications for the Statement of Comparability service are made online through our website.

This service costs Â£49.50 + VAT* plus the price of your chosen delivery option. The timeframe to complete your order is 15 working days from when we receive all necessary documents for each submitted qualification and full payment.

  • Photo ID (Passport)
  • Proof of Address (dated within the last 3 months)
  • Visa Status either a British Passport, BRP (Biometric Residence Permit) which is dated for after the end of the course duration or a Share Code (if you are from Europe)
  • NI Number (National Insurance Number) or right to work in the UK documentation
  • Certificates of your previous qualifications (qualifications from abroad must be converted)
  • UK Naric statement of comparability (for converted qualifications from abroad)
  • Up to date CV (Curriculum Vitae)
  • Health Declaration (This is a letter written and signed by you which states that you are fit, healthy and have no medical conditions which will affect your completion of the course)
  • Character Reference (A testimony written by the referee would be preferred, it would also need to include their Job title, contact number and email address (if they have a GDC registration number they must include this as well). Please note that the referee cannot be a family member. This person must have known you for at least 6 months or more.

There are a few other fees that are separate from the course fee. They are Deposit Fee and Awarding Body Registration Fee. There is also a fee for the BKSB Assessments:

  • Deposit Fee is £400.00
  • City and Guilds Awarding Body Registration Fee for Dental Nursing, Level 3 is £195.00 (this is included in the £400.00 deposit fee)
  • BKSB English and Maths Assessments £50.00 (£25.00 individually)

No, if you require a student visa to study in the UK or you are a tier 4 student. We are open to accepting applications from students who meet the following conditions:

UK and EU Students: We welcome applications from students who hold citizenship within the United Kingdom (UK) or any of the European Union (EU) member countries.

Valid Visa Holders: Additionally, we consider applicants who possess valid visas, such as:

Post-Study Visas: Students holding post-study visas, which allow them to remain in the UK after completing their studies.

Dependent Visas: Individuals on dependent visas of primary visa holders in the UK.

Settlement Status (Indefinite Leave to Remain): Applicants who have obtained Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) status in the UK.

All students must be 18 and over to study here at The Woolwich College

From the moment you submit your application, documents and pay the deposit fee it should take up to 2-3 weeks for you to be fully enrolled onto the course

It is not a requirement, but it may benefit you if you have some previous experience

After completing the course, students will be fully qualified Dental Nurses and be eligible to register with the GDC (General Dental Council). Following this they can enter into further study or progress straight into a range of roles within the field of Dentistry, including (but not limited to):
