Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in a Work Environment
The level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in a Work Environment is for practitioners who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment using the following assessment methods: observation, examining work products, oral questioning and professional discussion, use of expert witnesses, learner statements and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). The course and assessment are designed to ensure you understand the principles and practices of assessment and how to apply them in the work environment.

The qualification is suitable for individuals who:
are not yet in an assessor's role or who have just started their journey as an assessor in the further education and skills sector.
want a short qualification to enable them to progress in their career.
are carrying out assessments and quality assurance in a work environment.
are experienced in their area of assessment.
have access to two learners in their work environment
Entry Requirements:This qualification is suitable for learners of 19 years of age and above.
There are no specific entry requirements. You will need to assess two learners during the practical assessments.
5 years of experience in the area of the proposed assessment.
Good IT and communication skills.
As this course is delivered online, you will need a live internet connection via wifi, any 3G or 4G network and a desktop or laptop computer, or any Android or iOS compatible mobile device.
The course should take around 90 hours to complete. Many learners complete the course within 6-9 months. You must achieve a minimum of 9 credits.

How is this Course Delivered and Assessed?
This course is delivered through live online classes and access to an ePortfolio where you will access all your course materials. Interactive classes will give you an opportunity to network with other trainee assessors.
You will be assigned a personal tutor who will provide additional guidance and one-to-one support.
You are assessed by completing a portfolio of evidence that includes written assignments and four assessments of your two learners (i.e., two assessments of two different learners in their workplace), along with your assessment plans and feedback to your learners.
